PERSPECTIVES

Our current exhibition featuring Matt Aufderheide and Brooke Major. Aufderheide, a southern Florida based artist,  will be showcasing  landscapes of the lowcountry marshes with exquisitely colorful sunrises and sunsets. Brooke Major from Normandy, France, creates canvases that are painted with titanium white oil paint that she sculpts to give texture that reveals  both light and shadow. Her subject matter varies from historic buildings and churches to equestrian scenes.

MARSH TO MEDITERRANEAN: A Study in Light

Craig Nelson's new exhibition marks his 24th solo exhibition with Ella Walton Richardson Fine Art. He started showing with the gallery on opening day November 2, 2001, and the rest is history as they say. The collection is a culmination of works done in Plein Air in Italy as well as in his studio in California. There are canvases drenched in light from the Lowcountry of South Carolina and landscapes and architectural works from various locales in Italy. Nelson never fails to draw in the viewer with his masterful creations. One wishes they were there at the exact moment the sun was setting over the wetlands or exploring the ancient cities of Italy or the Roman campagna.

Join us on  March 6th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and meet the artist. It will be a memorable experience you won't want to miss. The artist' reception will coincide with the Charleston Gallery Associations' First Friday Art Walk. If you are unable to attend the opening please stop by as we would love to share this beautiful body of work with you. "Marsh to Mediterranean: A Study in Light" will be on view in the gallery through April 1, 2026.

WANDERLUST

An exciting new exhibition featuring Impressionist painter Richard Oversmith from Asheville, North Carolina

. Please come to the opening reception on Friday, April 3rd to meet the artist and enjoy this exceptional show. Oversmith has created over twenty new oil paintings and a  handful of acrylics on paper.

Oversmith travels the world and creates images of architectural and landscape scenes that his collectors relish. He always seems to leave the viewer wishing they were in the scene. This group of artworks consist of subject matter from scenes of his recent adventures to Italy and France. However, Oversmith has also created  colorful large scale marsh and ocean landscapes that he is known for in the lowcountry. We look forward to seeing you soon. The exhibition will run from April 3rd to 30th.
